Product Description
Elvis Presley first played Las Vegas at the very beginning of his superstar years, and audiences there were lass than enthusiastic in 1956. After finally and triumphantly returning to Vegas in 1969, Presley became ensconced for biannual engagements at the Las Vegas Hilton. This poster is a re-imagining of an actual poster from his summer 1972 engagement there, utilizing period ads and magazines as source material and inspiration. While superstar headliners like The King played the massive Showroom there, note the acts listed here in the Casino Lounge, with B. B. King headlining a continuous lineup that rotated all night. Jazz legend Paul Desmond gets no better than fifth billing. Also note the coming attractions of Bobby Darin and Shirley Bassey. This is a re-imagining of a poster used to promote those performances. A great gift for any Elvis fan!
